How NIRF Architecture Scores Are Calculated
The National Institutional Ranking Framework, run by the Ministry of Education, scores each institution out of 100 on five parameters. Colleges take part by applying, so a good college that did not submit data will not appear in the list.
- TLR: Teaching, Learning and Resources
- Faculty strength and qualifications, student to faculty ratio, and money spent on labs, studios and libraries.
- RPC: Research and Professional Practice
- Published research, citations, patents and professional or consultancy work by faculty.
- GO: Graduation Outcomes
- How many students graduate on time, go on to higher studies or get placed, and median salaries.
- OI: Outreach and Inclusivity
- Share of students from other states, women, economically weaker sections and students with disabilities.
- PR: Perception
- How employers, academics and peer institutions rate the college in NIRF surveys.
