This union territory joins three small regions with very different building stories. Daman and Diu were Portuguese enclaves until 1961, and their sea forts still stand: Moti Daman's walled fort encloses the Church of Bom Jesus, while Diu Fort guards the island's coast near the carved baroque facade of St. Paul's Church.
