Studying for architecture in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam (Vizag) is Andhra Pradesh's largest city, uniquely positioned where the Eastern Ghats tumble into the Bay of Bengal. This dramatic topography creates fascinating architectural challenges, hillside construction, coastal building design, and urban planning on varied terrain. The ancient Buddhist monastery ruins at Thotlakonda and Bavikonda on the hilltops above the city demonstrate how 2,000-year-old builders solved the same site-planning problems that modern architects face in this growing port city.
