NATA Result 2026: How to Check, What Your Score Means, What to Do Next

Neram Classes21 May 2026

When NATA 2026 results are declared

The Council of Architecture publishes NATA results phase-by-phase, typically within 7 to 14 days of each test. For 2026, the expected timeline is:

| Test date | Result date (expected) |

|---|---|

| Phase 1 Test 1 (April 2026) | Around 10 to 12 days after test |

| Phase 1 Test 2 (May or June 2026) | Around 10 to 12 days after test |

| Phase 2 (August 2026) | Around 10 to 12 days after test |

Final consolidated result (best score across all attempts) is declared after Phase 2.

How to check NATA 2026 result

1. Go to the official NATA portal at nata.in

2. Click on "Result" or "Score Card" in the navigation

3. Enter your NATA application number and date of birth

4. The score card displays your section-wise score, total score, and percentile (Phase 1 only)

5. Download the PDF and save it. You will need this for every B.Arch admission round.

Understanding your NATA score

NATA 2026 reports two numbers:

  • **Raw marks** out of 200
  • **Percentile rank** (Phase 1 only, calculated based on multi-attempt normalisation)
  • What raw marks mean

    | Raw marks | Interpretation | Likely admission |

    |---|---|---|

    | 145+ | Top 5% of test-takers | SPA Delhi, NIT Trichy, NIT Calicut, CEPT, top private institutes |

    | 125 to 144 | Top 15% | SPA Bhopal, JJ Mumbai, Anna University SAP, premier state institutes |

    | 105 to 124 | Top 30% | State universities, BMS, RV, JNAFAU, MEASI, BSA Crescent |

    | 85 to 104 | Top 50% | Reputed private colleges, deemed universities |

    | 75 to 84 | NATA-qualified, lower percentile | Most CoA-approved private colleges |

    | Below 75 | Not qualified | Retake NATA or wait for next year |

    What percentile means

Percentile shows where you rank relative to other test-takers. A 95th percentile means you scored higher than 95% of candidates. Top institutes increasingly use percentile alongside raw marks for admission.

What to do based on your score

If you scored 140+ (top tier band)

    1. Apply to SPA Delhi, SPA Bhopal, SPA Vijayawada through their B.Arch entrance process

    2. Apply to NITs through JoSAA counselling (if you also have JEE Paper 2A score)

    3. Apply to top state institutes (JJ Mumbai, CEPT, Anna University SAP) through their specific portals

    4. Use our [free cutoff calculator](/tools/cutoff-calculator) to see your admission probability at 5,000+ colleges

If you scored 105 to 139 (mid band)

    1. Apply to state universities and premier private institutes

    2. Consider TNEA B.Arch (Tamil Nadu), KEAM Arch (Kerala), MHT-CET B.Arch (Maharashtra), or other state counselling

    3. Have backup options: 2 to 3 private colleges via direct admission

    4. Use the [college predictor](/tools/college-predictor) to shortlist 8 to 10 colleges based on your score

If you scored 75 to 104 (qualified but lower band)

    1. Apply to a wider range of CoA-approved private colleges

    2. Consider repeating NATA in Phase 2 (August) to improve your score

    3. Look into managed quota seats at private universities (subject to fee structure)

    4. Combine with state-level admission tests where available

If you scored below 75 (not qualified)

    1. Re-attempt NATA in the next phase (you have up to 2 attempts in Phase 1, 1 in Phase 2)

    2. Identify specific weak sections from your detailed score report

    3. Consider joining a focused [crash course](/nata-online-coaching) for the next attempt

    4. Alternative: pivot to B.Des or interior design programs (no NATA required at many colleges)

    Common questions

**Can I improve my score by retaking NATA in Phase 2?**

Yes. Many students see a 15 to 25 mark improvement between attempts because they understand the actual exam interface and time pressure. Phase 2 is a separate test (not just a repeat), so prepare for slight format variations.

**What is the validity of my NATA score?**

NATA 2026 score is valid for the 2026 to 2027 academic year admission. NATA 2025 scores can also be used for 2026 to 2027 admissions per CoA rules.

    **Does NATA score guarantee admission?**

No. NATA is one component. Most colleges also require Class 12 marks (PCM aggregate of 50% from 2024 onward) and may have additional rounds (portfolio, interview, written test).

**Is there a re-evaluation process for NATA?**

NATA does not currently offer raw-score re-evaluation since it is computer-evaluated. You can apply for verification of OMR or technical issues if you suspect a calculation error.

    Next steps after NATA result

    3. Research and shortlist 8 to 12 colleges using the [college predictor](/tools/college-predictor)

    4. Note application deadlines for each college (most open in May or June)

    5. Prepare a portfolio if applying to CEPT, Anna University SAP, or other portfolio-required institutes
