KEAM B.Arch 2026 Eligibility & Documents

Who can apply, what NATA score is accepted, age rules, and the full document checklist with clause references from the official prospectus.

1. Academic qualification

10+2 or equivalent examination passed

Compulsory subjects:
Physics
Mathematics
Plus one of these elective subjects:
Chemistry
Biology
Computer Science
Information Technology
Informatics Practices
Engineering Graphics
Business Studies
Technical Vocational subject

Minimum aggregate: 45%. No rounding off is permitted. Exactly 45% means 45 marks out of 100, or 135 out of 300, or 67.5 out of 150. (Clause 6.2.8)

Diploma alternative: 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and at least 45% aggregate marks is also accepted. (Clause 6.2.3(a))

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA)

There is no relaxation in the minimum NATA passing score for any category. (Council of Architecture letter No. CA/5/Academic-NATA dated 11.03.2008, cited in Clause 6.2.3(b))

Architecture rank = NATA score (out of 200) + qualifying exam marks (out of 200), totalling 400. (Clause 9.7.4(c))

Tie-breaking, in order:

1.

Higher NATA score is placed higher

2.

If still tied, higher Mathematics marks in the qualifying exam wins

3.

If still tied, the older candidate is placed higher

4.

If still tied, the decision of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations is final

4. Age & other rules

10+2 with Physics + Mathematics + 45% aggregate

Physics and Mathematics are compulsory. The third subject can be Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, IT, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or a Technical Vocational subject. Minimum 45% aggregate marks (no rounding).

10+3 Diploma with Maths is also accepted

Candidates who passed a 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and at least 45% aggregate marks are also eligible.

You must score at least the minimum eligibility marks specified in the NATA Information Brochure. The minimum is set by the Council of Architecture; KEAM has no power to relax it for any category.

Clause 6.2.3(b)

Minimum age 17 by 31 December 2026

Candidates must complete 17 years of age on or before 31.12.2026. There is no relaxation in minimum age, and no upper age limit.

Clause 6.3.1

Nativity for Keralite category

Candidates claiming the Keralite category must produce nativity proof as defined in Clause 6.1. Non-Keralites can apply but compete for fewer reserved seats.

No lateral entry to year 2

B.Arch is a 5-year integrated programme. There is no provision to enter at a later stage by lateral admission.

Original score card. Mark list submitted by other means or after the deadline is not considered for rank list preparation.

Provisional or original mark list with subject-wise marks. Required to compute the qualifying-exam component of the rank.

Used as proof of date of birth and educational baseline.

SSLC or birth certificate. Must show that the candidate is 17 years or older on 31 December 2026.

For: Candidates claiming Keralite or Non-Keralite I / II category

Must be in the proforma prescribed by the Government of Kerala. Issued by the Village Officer or competent revenue authority.

For: Candidates claiming SC, ST, SEBC, or OEC reservation

Issued by the Tahsildar or designated authority. Required for reservation claims and fee concessions.

For: SEBC and OEC candidates

Required to claim SEBC reservation and SEBC-linked fee exemption (annual income up to Rs. 6 lakhs).

For: Candidates claiming fee concession or Tuition Fee Waiver

In the prescribed proforma. Annual income limits: Rs. 6 lakhs for SEBC fee exemption, Rs. 8 lakhs for the Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.

For: Candidates claiming PD (Persons with Disabilities) reservation

Minimum 40% benchmark disability is generally required. UDID card is the preferred proof.

For: Candidates claiming benefit of inter-caste marriage

Issued by the appropriate revenue or social-welfare authority.

Sports / NCC proficiency certificate
If applicable
For: Candidates claiming Sports or NCC quota for B.Arch

For B.Arch, sports and NCC marks (out of 500 each) are added to the architecture index, taking the maximum to 1000. Submit certificates as per the proforma in the prospectus.
